Story
For most of 2020 and into this next year, our staff have been working around the clock to care for patients whilst dealing with the extra pressures and challenges posed by the Covid-19 pandemic. The teams have meticulously prepared our hospitals to ensure patients receive the right care in the right place, and have adjusted to additional stressors as part of the current third wave of the virus in our community.
They have embraced new shift rotas - again. They have adapted to the restrictions of long shifts wearing layers of personal protective equipment (PPE). They have adjusted magnificently.
There is new hope with vaccines being rolled out at present, but the national message remains that it will take time to truly control Coronavirus and move back towards pre-Covid-19 life. That means our teams will be carrying on the charge against the virus for some time.
We want to make sure our staff remain healthy, supported and well-rested for the duration.
Your support to the Help BSUH Hospitals Campaign will provide practical help beyond what is available through core government funding such as:
short term and longer term psychological support
calm spaces allowing our staff to reset, rest, and recharge
enhanced nutritional and hydration provision
Your donation will give us the flexibility to give teams what they need now and in the future. Thank you so much.
We have been immensely moved by #ClapforCarers, rainbow pictures in windows across the community, and donations of support for staff wellbeing. Thank you for this.
Please donate today and help us make a difference in Brighton, Hove and Mid Sussex at our four hospitals: The Royal Sussex County, Princess Alexandra Childrens Hospital, Sussex Eye Hospital and The Princess Royal Hospital.
Let's support the NHS staff who are going above and beyond for us.
