Story
After considering the health and well-being of our visitors, volunteers and staff, we have decided to temporarily close Amberley Museum to visitors until the current situation caused by Coronavirus (COVID-19) eases.
At the end of April, we were delighted to receive emergency funding from Arts Council England to assist with essential costs for May, June and July. This is very welcome news as the closure due to the coronavirus situation has had a devastating impact on the Museums finances. This eases some of the immediate pressure, but the Museum still faces significant financial challenges, both for the remaining period when we are closed (however long that may be) but also when we reopen.
We can't wait to welcome you back to the museum as soon as possible, but without your continued support, this might not be possible. Amberley Museum is an independent museum, meaning we receive no regular funding from government or local authorities. We derive most of our income from our amazing visitors and supporters. People like you.
With your support we will be able to reopen and (after the unexpected delay) you will be able to enjoy all our regular exhibits, our special event days such as our James Bond and Steam Punk weekends, and classic vehicle shows. Families and visitors of all ages have enjoyed Amberley Museum for 40 years; by making a donation today, you can help make it another 40.
Stay in touch via social media. We will be sharing memories, exhibits, and stories from the museum. We would love to hear from you, and hear what the museum means to you. Please use the tag #MyAmberley.
Please help support Amberley Museum in this difficult time. We are appreciative of any size donation; every Pound will help maintain our Museum for future generations.
