Story
This Winter, we are asking residents and businesses to help feed Liverpool by supporting our Winter Boost project; to help the work of Feeding Liverpool and our partner charities that provide emergency food support in the region as we work towards #GoodFoodForAll.
It isn’t right that anyone needs to use a foodbank. Sadly many in our city do, with over 2,700 emergency food parcels being given out every week in Liverpool.
At Feeding Liverpool we continue to campaign to end the root causes of poverty whilst ensuring people have good food at points of crisis.
Since 2020, we have partnered with some of Liverpool’s largest Emergency Food networks/providers, to boost their emergency parcels with fresh fruit and vegetables over the winter months (December – March).
Last winter, we boosted 16,333 emergency food parcels with fresh fruit and vegetables. Together, 14,188 people were supported, including 4,320 children.
Beginning in December 2024, we will again be partnering with member organisations to support people in crisis this winter.
The Winter Boost project aims to improve the quality of emergency food parcel provision during the winter months for households experiencing an acute food crisis; increasing the quantity and quality of household diets during this period, including boosting vital vitamin and mineral intake.
Emma Ottley, Business Development Manager, from Hawksmoor explains how Hawksmoor Liverpool will be supporting the appeal:
'Hawksmoor Liverpool is always passionate to support local charities, who are making big differences across the Liverpool region to those in need. The work Feeding Liverpool tirelessly do, is something we are committed to supporting, and we are proud to have them as our official Charity Partner. This Christmas period we will be making a monetary donation for each Mince Pie sold at Hawksmoor Liverpool, and we can't wait to see the fantastic work Feeding Liverpool do develop even further in 2025.
