Story
Last winter, like everyone else, the Tech faced a huge increase in energy bills. Costs have gone down a little bit but are still far higher than they were two years ago.
We only survived last winter because of your generosity and grants from Holme Valley Parish Council and West Yorkshire Combined Authority, which helped to replace the boiler. We tightened our belts to reduce costs wherever we could.
We will again need your help to get through this Winter. Use of the Tech has increased hugely over the last six months so we know how much you value it. But as well as needing to be warmer, the building needs repairing.
We have only worked on the building when specific grant funding had been sourced for conversions or in emergencies. These are cropping up more often now the building is being used more and it shows its age. The leak in the Foyer is an example. We also need to draught proof the windows.
If you gave a £1 every time you come into the building, it will go a long way towards doing vital repairs and helping to heat the Tech. We are aiming to reach at least £10,000.
And don’t forget that if you are a UK taxpayer, you will get tax relief and the Tech will get an additional 25% from the Government.
