Story
We have fantastic news - we have reached the target for our Community Response Appeal, raising £20,274 in just under 8 weeks!
We have been so touched by the messages of support from our community and donations given both big and small.
A huge thank you to all those who have donated. We look forward to sharing the impact your donation will make over the next few months.
The challenge we face
Holborn Community Association has supported nearly 750 people to get through the unprecedented challenges of the last eight months and provided emergency support to those who really needed it.
Operating in the new normal diverts our resources and capacity. Yet we have an uncertain future with projections for our income for 2021 and beyond uncertain.
We need your support
When the crisis hit we launched 3 new ways to care for our community. Our Doorstep Help, Telephone Befriending and Online Creative Programmes exist to tackle loneliness, supporting people to be mentally healthy and caring for some of the most vulnerable older people (including those with dementia, depression and serious medical conditions).
But with isolation already taken its toll on so many, we must continue to reach those in need and continue our work in these unprecedented times, especially through the winter months.
Our Community Link Worker Naomi Nehemen whose part of our Doorstep Help team shares:
"We get weekly referrals from various organisations from local people to GP's to adult social services. Without Doorstep Help, we are going to see vulnerable people in Holborn deteriorating with nobody in their lives they can trust"
How your donation helps
HCA hasn't stopped because of COVID-19, our community need us more than ever and we continue to provide the resilience and connection Holborn needs. Anything you can give will help us to continue to be that lifeline for so many people in our community.
