Haydock Band is the oldest community music group in Haydock and celebrated its 160th anniversary in 2021. We are a 1st section band in the North West Area who share our passion for music at contests, concerts, at Haydock Park Racecourse, and through our social media platforms for all to enjoy.

Story

The Haydock Band (THB) are a friendly and successful 1st section brass band based in the North West. We perform in regional and entertainment contests, local concerts and regularly at Haydock Park racecourse. This helps us to share and promote music to all ages.

The band decided to create a challenging virtual fundraising walking event to support our amazing bass section by raising funds for new E♭ and B♭ basses, whilst sharing our musical talents with our supporters. All 28 members are completing a virtual walk which includes visits to the twin towns of St Helens - Chalon-Sur-Saône in France, and Stuttgart in Germany, which began at our home in Haydock on 17th June 2024, and will end at our home on 15th August 2024. This is a big challenge for us in which we are aiming to achieve around 10 million steps to reach our target of 5326 miles in just 60 days!

We are stopping at 19 UK and European towns/cities along the way, showcasing some of our musical history through virtual performances of pieces of music related to the town/city for you all to enjoy. We are hoping that this local event will give the band members a boost and spur them on to improve band fitness for our exciting future ahead.

We would love it if you could support us and we hope you enjoy all the performances. Follow our journey on social media (Fb, Instagram, X) @haydockband.

We’d like to thank you for your support and we’re looking forward to seeing you at one of our future events!

A big thank you, from the Haydock Band.
