Story
At Hazelwood, we hold a steadfast commitment to supporting local initiatives and we believe that The Lucy Rayner Foundation aligns closely with our belief in the importance of pupil wellbeing.
Supporting young people's mental health is an integral part of the School's everyday ethos and we strive to foster an environment in which every pupil feels supported and valued.
The Lucy Rayner Foundation supports young people directly by providing timely counselling, allowing them to get vital help when they are most in need. It also provides valuable training to schools to help teachers identify signs of mental health issues, enabling them to provide support with issues such as anxiety, low self esteem, peer pressure and anger management.
How your donations help:
£35 - A counselling session for a young person.
£70 - Online awareness course for teaching staff to better understand the pressures associated with mental health issues in young people.
£205 - Set up of a family and young person support group.
£250 - Provides 6 one-to-one counselling sessions.
We actively fundraise throughout the year and ask for your continued support in this endeavour at various events we hold at Hazelwood.
