Story

We are PROUD of our clubs history

Our club records tell us we were established in the late 18th century and we are lucky to still have a collection of pictures and scorebooks memorabilia in the Pavilion to evidence this.

The reason for this longevity is clear. The love of cricket continues to bring people together. It not only fosters teamwork and leadership skills but it’s an opportunity to build lasting friendships. We have a membership of people from diverse backgrounds and capabilities

Past members speak very positively about their participation in our club, with many coming back to tell us their stories. Others have attended as a spectator and enjoyed the day or attended family social gatherings enjoying the safe family environment of our well kept club grounds.

New challenges and partnerships. Navnat and 4 ECB league teams

Playing cricket to English Cricket Board (ECB) standards is very important to us to ensure our grounds are a safe and secure place to play. and maintaining all 4 teams throughout the season is something we are seeking to maintain for the future. We do not want to reduce the league teams, if members want to play,...we will make it happen.

Recently, our second ground (council pitch) was deemed as unsafe by ECB regulations, through no fault of our own. So we had to search for an alternative solution. Which has resulted in a ground becoming available within Navnat Vanik Association community centre, Printinghouse Lane, Hayes.

We have undertaken a partnership to develop Navnats existing ground field to this standard. Including providing cricket changing rooms and toilets facilities. However, initially we will also need to install an artificial pitch too so we can continue to play whilst the new grass pitch is being constructed, which will take approximately 2 years.

It is a big project for us!

Help us keep going

We are committed to grass roots cricket and want everyone to feel welcome, valued & respected. We fully support the expansion of women’s cricket. This project for us is an opportunity to integrate even more within our local community too. It's about building relationships both on and off the pitch too. By working in partnership both clubs will support the next generation and promote positive social values within our community.

As club organisers, we welcome change and encourage our members to do so too. We welcome new cricket game formats which brings flexibility and new experiences. We encourage all members to ‘get involved’ with not only the playing, training, coaching or mentoring and other hands on roles. But we also need everyones support with all the behind the scenes activities i.e organising, planning, fundraising, functions, tournaments etc. We will need all the help we can get.

Thank you for your support and do come and see us if you are passing or visit our website and social media channels (Facebook & Instagram) for updates.
