I'm doing the Camino walk in May half term, the walk will start from Portuguese Porto and finishes in Santiago in Spain, approximately 120 km and around 1 week. I will be doing this walk at my own expense but thought it would be a great opportunity to raise money for forest school at Romsey Primary School.
We are very fortunate to have such a vast woodland area for children to explore at Romsey Primary. However, I would like to help develop and enhance these learning opportunities further through Forest school sessions for children to access.
I would like to help set up an outdoor cabin which is resourced for forest school sessions.
I believe that Forest school has incredible benefits for children. I have witnessed this first hand from supporting Forest school sessions during Well Wednesday and would love this to be accessible for other year groups. It helps to develop resilient, confident, independent and creative learns. It fosters a love for nature and encourages children to be more mindful and aware of environmental concerns.
It encourages children to take managed risks and tackle challenges through problem solving. Children are out in all weathers which helps to develop self care and independence skills.
All children deserve a happy and memorable childhood full of puddle jumping and making mud pies.
I hope you will support me on this fundraising campaign.
