Story
Six years ago, we faced the unimaginable loss of our beloved son, Harry Chadwick. Harry, who passed away from cancer at the age of 19, was an extraordinary young man who brought light into every room he entered. He was hilarious, loyal, and loving, with a deep affection for his friends and family. Every day, we feel his absence profoundly.
Harry was autistic, and before his illness, we were dedicated to helping him prepare for his future beyond secondary school. For many young people with neurodiverse conditions like Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and ADHD, the transition from school to adulthood can be daunting, even with good support during their school years. This is where we hope to make a difference with Harry’s Fund.
In Harry’s memory, we have partnered with Northamptonshire Community Foundation, the county’s largest independent grant-giving charity, to launch Harry’s Fund—a bursary scheme designed to support young people with neurodiverse conditions across Northamptonshire. This fund aims to help them transition smoothly into further education, employment, apprenticeships, or volunteering roles.
Harry’s Fund has been made possible thanks to the overwhelming generosity of Harry’s family and friends, who raised funds in his memory. Their support has been invaluable, and we continue to receive donations toward this important cause. We invite you to join us in making a lasting impact on the lives of these young individuals by contributing to Harry’s Fund. Your donation can make a significant difference, providing vital financial assistance to students who need it most.
Alex Rex, Grants Manager at Northamptonshire Community Foundation, shared our pride in launching this initiative: “We’re very proud to be launching Harry’s Fund in partnership with Jess and David from Pilkington Communications. This bursary scheme will provide essential support to students with neurodiverse conditions who need financial help with their transition to higher or further education, or into apprenticeships or volunteering roles.”
We are incredibly proud to be launching Harry’s Fund. We believe Harry would be smiling right now, knowing that his legacy is helping others. We are deeply grateful to the Northamptonshire Community Foundation team for their support in making this vision a reality.
If you would like to make a donation and help us continue Harry’s legacy, please do so here. Together, we can make a meaningful difference in the lives of young people with neurodiverse conditions, giving them the support they need to thrive.
Thank you for your generosity and support.
Warm regards,
Jess and David Chadwick
