Christmas is a magical time for children, time to get together with friends and families, attend parties, concerts, theatrical performances.
Families with children with special needs and disabilities can feel extremely lonely and excluded during this time if their children don't get a role in the Nativity, don't get an invitation to the party, can't cope with too bright and busy Christmas events.
Thanks to your generous donations, last year Hand to Hold, a Charity for Russian speaking families with special needs and disabilities, organised its first "Special Christmas Party for Special Children" (please, follow the link to read about the event in our blog post)
More than 15 families joined us for celebrations, and the feedback was amazing.
"We really liked the relaxed atmosphere of the event. I didn't have to worry if my child was too loud or wanted to run around, I was able to relax, and we truly enjoyed ourselves", said one parent after the celebrations".
That's more important, we want this event to be free for families who are already under heavy financial stress of raising children with special needs and disabilities (SEND).
