Story
This once in a lifetime challenge will see you trek to the summit of North Africas highest peak, standing at 4,167m in the Atlas Mountains.
The route is a mixture of rocky and sandy paths, passing traditional Berber villages, grassy meadows, isolated patches of snow and flowing rivers. The final ascent starts before sunrise, and you will follow a route to the top of North Africa where you will enjoy breath-taking panoramic views to the east and west over the snow-capped peaks of the High Atlas Mountains. To the south, the Sahara stretches out below and to the north the plains of Morocco. The journey ends in the wonderful city of Marrakesh.
Trekkers taking on this amazing challenge will raise vital funds for Halton Haven Hospice. The Hospice provides specialist care, completely free of charge, to people of Halton and surrounding areas who are living with end of life or life-limiting conditions.
Each year it costs £2.3 million to run Halton Haven which means £6,301 is needed every day to keep the hospice open. It is only thanks to the support of the community and organisations that they are able to raise this money and continue offering services to the local community.
