Story
The average pilgrim will walk 72km during their Hajj. This multiplied by the approximate 2.5million people that attend Hajj, is a cumulative 180million kilometers walked over the days of Hajj.
With Hajj looking different to every other year due to COVID-19 for a second year, the crowds of pilgrims we are so used to seeing walking between the rites of Hajj, will be significantly smaller.
To keep this spirit of Hajj alive, Islamic Relief volunteers and challengers from across the globe will be cycling this distance over the first 10 days of Dhul Hijjah and we want YOU to join in!
Plan your 10 days, grab your bicycle and set off on your Hajj inspired journey this year!
The Cause: Provide Water for Life
Water is the key to all life. Yet across the globe, a staggering 785 million people are going thirsty each and every day. Without safe and clean water to drink, these people risk dehydration, disease and at worse: death.
The best charity is giving water to drink and He was the most generous in giving charity. [Ahmad]
Here at Islamic Relief, we're working worldwide in over 40 countries across the globe to ensure that not only do communities have a safe and reliable source of water for today, but for life too.
By signing up to this challenge, the funds you raise will help provide clean and safe water to families in desperate need.
72km of any cycle route that you like!
Any location of your choice.
On your own or with family & friends & all with the intention of raising funds to help rebuild lives through providing Water for Life for communities worldwide!
