THE BEST RETURNS COME WITH AN INVESTMENT IN EDUCATION!
PAGE roots for education under all cases and all circumstances. It believes that the best interest lies in investing in education since it transforms not just an individual but an entire society. Due to the very same reason PAGE took the initiative of establishing Star Schools in different areas all across Pakistan.
Star Schools operate with a motive to make education accessible to both girls and boys of underprivileged families. They operate intending to provide knowledge to all those who do not have the supportive environment that enables them to get enrolled in a school. To the Star Schools education is the passport to an open mind and therefore, it believes in issuing this passport to as many children as possible so that a developed society can come into being.
The people of village Haji Sain are mostly involved in farming with very poor backgrounds. Opening Star School in the village Haji Sain was the finest idea to support underprivileged children. The total number of students enrolled in the Star School Haji Sain is 30, of which 18 are girls and 12 are boys.
Through community engagement and awareness, PAGE teams promote that education is the first and foremost thing that a child should be pursuing, through such efforts parents of Bashira realized that working as a maid at the age of 8 stood secondary to gaining education for little Bashira and enrolled her in the Star school!
Furthermore, just because Star Schools strongly believe in the importance of education, they do not let any hurdle such as poverty block their way. This is exactly why Bashira whose mother is a maid and father a farmer does not have to bear the burden of the cost of uniforms, books, notebooks, stationery etc. as Star School provides all these necessities to him free of cost!
Bashira shows that Star Schools efforts are reaping positive results as Bashira has already established herself as a brilliant student who is excelling at learning new things at a great pace with each passing day.
Like all other places, even in Village Haji Sain Rakhio, Malir, Karachi, Star Schools impart education to the children of marginalized communities especially girls by believing that education can break whatever holds these children back thereby helping them return/reveal the potential that lies within their souls and become productive, dynamic members of the society.
