Story
Jumping from a moving aeroplane at 15,000ft takes nerves of steel! Our jumpers will experience the sheer exhilaration of free falling for 60 seconds at speeds of up to 125mph before their parachute is deployed and they come floating back down to earth.
This terrifyingly exciting challenge is not for the faint hearted, so we really want to get behind our jumpers and support them. This is a huge personal challenge but they are all committed to raising as much money as possible for Gympanzees! Read why below.
There are 66,000 children and young people with disabilities within an hour of Bristol and over 1.1 million in the UK. 77% of them cannot access regular leisure facilities, so they cannot play, exercise, or socialise in the same ways as their peers and are twice as likely as non-disabled children to be lonely. This leaves whole families in social isolation, with 72% of parents reporting coping with mental health issues directly resulting from social isolation. Children living with a disability want more understanding and acceptance, more choice of activities, more motivation and encouragement.
This is where Gympanzees come in...
Our solution is a world-class play, exercise and social facility for children and young people with disabilities right here in Bristol. Our Pop-Up facilities have shown how brilliant it will be and how desperately its needed.
So, we need YOUR HELP to continue supporting our families now through the Pop-Ups and our Lending Library, whilst we move closer towards creating a permanent home for Gympanzees.
Please support these amazing humans and give generously! You can also help by sharing their story with your friends and family too!
