Story

The Doko Challenge is excited to be returning in 2021!

This unique 5km race will see runners lacing up their Gurkha boots, pulling on a Nepali Doko basket, and taking on the Bravest of the Brave.

Based on the traditional Gurkha recruitment race, this 5km run takes place through on the stunning yet arduous grounds of Greystoke Castle in Cumbria on Sunday 23rd May 2021 and sees participants choose from an option of three weights to carry along the route in their Doko Baskets- 5kg, 10kg, and 15kg. Just to make it a dash more difficult, we're challenging you to beat the Gurkha recruitment time of 46 minutes!

Whether the time is beaten or not, a deliciously chilled Kukri Beer will be waiting for you at the finish line along with your well-earnt medal!
