Story
2021 hasn't had the start that we were all hoping for! However, in the spirit of keeping things moving this year we are encouraging our supporters to join us in setting themselves the challenge of conquering the largest mountain in the world - Starting whenever but completing within 12 weeks, and from the comfort of their own homes.
Open to everyone, no matter your age, health or ability, this is a challenge to keep active during these testing times. Those who finish will be posted a victory medal for their efforts.
Everest stands at 8,848m high and overlooks the most beautiful country of all, Nepal. Home to our 500 staff and the thousands of Gurkha veterans and widows we care for, last year the country struggled with the influx of tourists attempting the summit . This year, with the world in lockdown, the mountain is getting a well-earned rest. But that doesn't mean you get to too!
We are asking our supporters to conquer Mt Everest with us, by climbing their stairs or walking/running up local inclines, and achieving the equivalent elevation of 8,848m!
