Story

Step One Charity supports up to 800 people with mental health problems who may also have disabilities living across Devon. With mental health problems skyrocketing on the back of multiple crises it has never been more important for organisations to reach out and offer freely available support to anyone who needs it. Step One Charity is doing just that and working preventatively across the Devon community to help prevent crisis or even suicide.

Every donation made will enable our much-loved charity to offer more peer support groups, mental health courses, community enabling and emergency response care. Your donation could directly help someone find the strength to move forward, or the confidence to take positive action in their lives.

"Step One saved my life because I was becoming desperate and now I have hope"

By participating in Exeter's Great West Run 2024, you are becoming a part of the Step One family, part of a team dedicated to standing up to the mental health crisis and saying that waiting list times are unacceptable, the rising number of suicides is unacceptable, and continued isolation and loneliness across our community is unacceptable. With every step, you are helping Step One Charity to address these growing crises.
