Story
The fantasy football community are again coming together to raise vital funds for Street Child United. Last year we raised £6,606 helping some of the worlds most marginalised young people as they took part in the World Cup that matters - the Street Child World Cup Doha 2022 and Street Child United were able to account for every pound raised.
£1,000 of proceeds from GW39 helped secure 10 passports to bring Team Burundi to the SCWC 2022! Passports are also essential in providing street-connected young people with a reliable form of legal identification so they can access education and healthcare.
£280 of money raised went towards purchasing goalkeeping kits for all 28 teams! During the SCWC, all keepers got to take part in a goalkeeping masterclass with former PSG goalkeeper, Arianna Criscione.
£1,200 of money raised covered transport costs for Street Child United former participants (Young Leaders) Drika & Sadock, to get to the World Cup! Both represented the young people & successfully pitched their business ideas to the Qatar Fund for Development, who respectively granted both projects £10,000 each!
£3,606 of proceeds sponsored and helped fund the journey of Team Peru! Peru campaigned in the General Assembly for gender equality, and will be welcomed by their government on their return home!
Finally, £520 of money raised purchased 130 sports bras for every girl playing at the SCWC. This is a type of luxury which is often taken for granted, and should be accessible for every young girl!
