Story

We're on a mission to bring awareness to colorectal cancer through the event, Get Up There (GUT), a public awareness movement, fundraiser and event. For the last 13 years, we have raised over $800,000 to support the awareness for fight against colorectal cancer, purchase equipment to aid in early detection, outfit a third endoscopy suite with specialized equipment and fund the promotion of Nova Scotia's world class colorectal cancer screening program. But it's still not enough.

As we prepare for the 14th annual event, which will take place on Friday April 1, 2022 in Halifax beginning at noon, well need your help.

Join us as we climb the city to the top of Citadel Hill and fight for Nova Scotians facing colorectal cancer. It's simple. The more you climb and the more money we raise; the more we will help prevent this insidious disease.

This year, proceeds raised by GUT participants will support the purchase equipment and technology such as the GI Genius, an innovative artificial intelligence technology used to detect polyps during a colonoscopy.

Because early detection is critical in the diagnosis and treatment of colorectal cancer, this increase will help the Dartmouth General Hospital save lives.
