Story
Rough sleeping - the visible side of homelessness - has risen nationally by 141% over the last 10 years. Now that we are experiencing the coronavirus pandemic, we want to try to help our vulnerable rough sleepers off the streets and into a safe place. This is why we are trying to open Guildford Hall earlier than planned - but we can't do it without you.
Our new accommodation, Guildford Hall, is former student accommodation which has been empty for a number of years. We are determined to make it as homely and comfortable as it can be, and will be providing cooking and washing facilities for all our customers. However, this is a significant cost, and we are looking for your support with this project. This has now become incredibly urgent, so that we can help protect Luton's most vulnerable.
Every one of the 45 rooms is being completely redecorated to make the environment as warm and welcoming as possible. Each room needs a bed and mattress, a set of single bedding, towels, a duvet and pillow, blinds for the windows and a lamp.
In addition, we are providing fully-equipped kitchens, as well as washing machines and tumble dryers.
Any help you are able to offer would be gratefully received.
