Story
This March, a group of travel professionals will lace up their hiking boots once again to tackle one of South America's toughest routes to raise money for ABTA LifeLine and Planeterra. Led by adventure travel expert, G Adventures, the five day challenge will see the group trek deep into the jungle, covering nearly 30 miles, as they weave through rural farmlands, remote river valleys and a final 1,200 step to arrive at the 'Lost City'.
Bringing together the travel industry to raise vital funds for Planeterra and ABTA LifeLine, every penny raised will be divided equally to support Planeterra’s work with vulnerable communities around the world, as well as ABTA LifeLine who provide support to struggling travel colleagues across the UK in their time of need.
Who your fundraising will help:
Help Planeterra strengthen community tourism around the world so that economic opportunities are created, places are protected, and cultures are celebrated through travel. Tourism is a global industry, but many local businesses and communities do not benefit from it. There are some forms of tourism where no money reaches the hands of local people. Planeterra works to break this cycle by supporting and uplifting community tourism.
Help ABTA LifeLine to provide resources and support for travel professionals during difficult times. The charity gives financial grants to help colleagues suffering real financial hardship caused by those unexpected moments in life such as redundancy, relationship breakdown, life-changing medical conditions, bereavement, disability, domestic violence and everything in between. It gives practical, financial and emotional assistance to travel colleagues that are really struggling, throwing them a LifeLine in their time of need.
All funds raised go directly to Planeterra and ABTA LifeLine and are not used to cover the costs of the trek.
Your donation is incredibly important to these two charities.
