Story
Around 8% of children will stammer at some point, and some will go on to stammer throughout adulthood. At least 1% of adults stammer. Adults and children alike face discrimination, intolerance and ridicule for speaking in the way that comes naturally to them. It is how some people talk.
STAMMA exists to combat the stigma that exists around stammering and create a world which makes space for people who stammer. That means addressing the misunderstanding, bias and outright discrimination people face, and put pressure on organisations and government to build into their systems and processes consideration for people who stammer.
