Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit GTCC’s JustGiving page. On Saturday 11th May 2024 between 9:30 and 12:30, a team of Angels will be facing the challenge of collectively clocking up an amazing 75,000 steps as we ascend and descend the landmark tower, all in support of Guildford Town Centre Chaplaincy (GTCC).
The tower at Guildford Cathedral is no ordinary climb. With its 249 steps leading up to the Angel on top, it's a challenge that symbolizes the incredible work that GTCC has done since its establishment in 2008. Over the last 16 years, GTCC has helped an astounding 75,000 individuals in our community. Can you help celebrate this great achievement by sponsoring the Angel Ascent?
GTCC runs three vital projects in our town, delivered by over 100 trained volunteers who provide a listening ear and practical help to those in need. Our Street Angels work tirelessly to ensure everyone gets home safely late at night while also helping reduce anti-social behaviour. Our Community Angels tackle loneliness and social isolation by closely working with individuals referred to us for around six months, helping them reconnect with their communities. Lastly, our Volunteer Chaplains offer compassionate support to vulnerable individuals in places like GPs surgeries or other workplaces. Click here to find out more www.gtcc.org.uk
By supporting the team with a gift of any size, you will not only encourage them as they conquer those dizzy-fying spirals but also contribute to this amazing charity's ongoing mission of serving the vulnerable in our town. Your generosity will make a real difference to individuals and help alleviate pressure on emergency and health services while offering hope without judgment.
Thank you for your support – all donations, of any size, are hugely appreciated!
PS It’s not too late to join the team and help raise funds for GTCC – it will be a great team event and the view from the top of the tower is fabulous! Spectators also warmly invited to drop in to make sure the participants keep going. Contact us via www.gtcc.org.uk
