Story
Welcome to the Grief Encounter Tribute Fund page. Each Fund set up represents a message to someone who has died leaving behind a child or young person.
44,000 dependent children are bereaved annually in the UK; thats 1 child in every classroom. Bereaved children are not seen as a vulnerable group in society, and therefore receive no government funding to assist with clinical support. These Tribute Funds represent a collective determination to raise awareness for young people and their families suffering bereavement, in memory of all those who have died.
We know that grief has an impact that can last a life time. Research shows that without early professional intervention young people can develop mental health issues and serious social and behavioural problems. This is where Grief Encounter make a difference. We offer free, innovative and pioneering support to children, young people and their families, providing a way out of the isolation and devastation that comes hand in hand with experiencing the death of a loved one.
How can you help? You can make a single donation or set up a dedicated Fund page so others can donate. You can also have your fund represented by a butterfly in your loved one's name on our Butterfly Wall in our new Grief Encounter offices in Mill Hill, London. The new offices will house 4 modern and purpose built therapeutic spaces for the clinical team to support children and young people in a safe and comfortable environment. We hope to have the offices ready from late 2019.
All of the money raised through the Grief Encounter Tribute Funds will help us with our mission to ensure that every bereaved child and their family in the UK receives the best quality information, advice and professional support to help alleviate the pain caused by bereavement.
If you already have a JustGiving page in memory of someone who died and would like it attached to this campaign page, or if you have any other questions, please contact Grief Encounter by emailing tributefund@griefencounter.org.uk.
