Story
The charity that the senior school is supporting this year is the Treehouse Community Café in Holt. It was opened last year by Lorna and Rachel and has a community fridge, zero waste café, outdoor area with a vegetable garden and runs workshops such as childrens yoga and music groups. This community centre is vital to the area as it provides a friendly and welcoming environment that aims to support people affected by poverty and deprivation in Holt. This effort particularly helps anyone who needs it from new mums, to vulnerable elderly people and children with speech difficulties.
Our goal of £6000 will go towards building a low-level treehouse with disabled access and a sensory garden. A group of Gresham's students visited the Treehouse Community centre in October to help start the development of the sensory garden where the treehouse will be situated.
Any donations would be welcomed and are needed more than ever this year as the pandemic has affected the capacity that the community centre has had to reach vulnerable people.
Once again, we would like to say thank you for your ongoing support of this years school charity.
Update: Virtual half marathon, Sunday 14th March 2021
