Story
The Green Heart Project is gearing up for its 10th year of Farm to School programs in Charleston, and we need your help! We need to raise $25,000 by September 9 to kick off our partnerships with 6 schools in Charleston County, reaching 1,200 students. The funds will be used to:
1) Prepare our school gardens, including soil, mulch, plants, and seeds
2) Purchase program supplies, including culinary kits for our cooking lessons, and garden kits featuring hand trowels, gardening gloves, and magnifying glasses for our garden lessons.
3) Hire and train our seasonal staff. We cannot say enough about our dedicated Garden Educators who lead our students and volunteers in hands-on learning every week in our partner schools, and keep our gardens growing.
Consider donating at one of the following levels:
Culinary Sponsor ($1,000) - sponsors the hands-on cooking and nutrition components of a Green Heart program for the school year.
Class Sponsor ($500) - sponsors one class to participate in our STEM garden program - with 4 garden lessons during the course of the school year
Field Trip Sponsor ($100) - sponsors a field trip for one of our classes to visit a local farm or food-related business
Student Sponsor ($25) - sponsors one student's participation in our Farm to School program for a semester
