Story
Seton Hall Prep's Crew team started an annual tradition last year by holding its first annual Pirate Pride Ergathon fundraiser in October 2021. This ergathon is a way for the team to raise funds for their upcoming Spring Season, but to also provide a great teaming event where the boys compete on the rowing machines for personal bests in a 2k meter race!
The 2021 Ergathon raised over $21,000, so our goal this year is $25,000! Each rower is asked to get a minimum of $250 in pledges for this event. This money will allow the coaching staff to look for newer boats to help the team get a competitive advantage over their opponents at our regattas. As we did last year, a portion of the funds we raise this year will go to Rise Against Hunger and the Crew team's participation in purchasing and packaging meals for delivery where they are most needed throughout the world.
The SHP Crew team competes against high school rowing programs from all over the tri-state area as well as teams from Pennsylvania and beyond. Racing includes prestigious regattas such as The Head of the Charles, The Stotesbury Cup, Garden State Championships, City Championships and Scholastic Nationals. Many of these regattas take place on the Schuylkill River in Philadelphia, with racing almost every weekend in April and May.
Please help our team work together to become faster, stronger rowers by donating to the Pirate Pride Ergathon!
