Story

In 2020 Gordano School partnered with 4 of the Churches of the town to employ a School Chaplain. Despite inauspicious beginnings in the middle of lockdown the project has been an enormous success. Becky Cox has served as Chaplain during that time and has made a difference to numerous children and supported staff through challenging times. Both school and churches are keen to see this project to fruition and continue beyond the end of the initial 3-year agreement. Please support members of the Methodist Church, Enjoy Church, Gordano Valley Church, the Church of England and the Gordano School community to raise money to enable this great work to continue.

There is no charge to abseil but each abseiler will need to raise a minimum of £125 in sponsorship money. The minimum age for participants is 14 and those under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian. There is no upper age limit but participants must be in reasonable health.

After the cost of organising the event has been paid all money raised will go to support the Chaplaincy project.

In the unlikely event that the Chaplaincy partnership comes to an end and there are unspent funds, the money will be used to support the pastoral and spiritual life of the school
