Story
Help The Mission to Seafarers support seafarers worldwide by becoming a Global Champion! Or show your support by donating today to a team or individual taking on a challenge.
Andrew Wright, The Mission to Seafarers Secretary General, says:
Seafarers continue to undertake heroic work during this pandemic. While incredible work by much of the shipping industry has made a big difference, substantial issues remain. MtS continues to provide a key resource for crew, and we cannot do this without your help.
Global Champions Unite 2020 saw individuals and teams participate from all over the world, raising £77k towards the Flying Angel Campaign. Launched in response to the crisis, the campaign enabled MtS to respond to the urgent needs of seafarers globally.
Last year companywide initiatives were championed by Ardmore Shipping, Thome Ship Management, Anglo Ardmore, Port of London, and more. Guy Platten, ICS Secretary General, took on a 5km run in lockdown, inspiring others to take on their own fitness challenges worldwide.
We hope that the maritime community will respond to our call for action by taking on their own challenge for Global Champions Unite 2021. Your support will contribute towards the Sustaining Crew Welfare Fund and help us to maintain and adapt our services, against the backdrop of the COVID-19 virus. The Fund includes our Innovation Fund, Justice & Welfare Fund, Family Support, and General Fund.
