Story

(acc. no. 49)

This flintlock pistol was found on Culloden battlefield, dropped by a Jacobite solider during their infamous last stand in 1746. It is not unusual to find pistols on battlefields; they took so long to reload in the heat of battle that after firing a single shot they were often discarded.

The minimum donation to adopt this object is £15. Your adoption will last for two years.

After clicking Donate, please enter this amount before continuing. Donations less than this amount will still count towards our fundraising but will be considered a donation rather than an adoption.
