Story
Back in the mists of time; long before Barbie, before Cindy, before Action Man became The Greatest Hero Of Them All, one of the world's best-known manufacturers of tiny human replicas was Armand Marseilles.
Armand Marseilles made bisque (a type of unglazed porcelain) dolls in the late 19th/ early 20th century in Koppelsdorf, Germany. At the peak of production 1,000 doll heads were made each day, being attached in true Dr Frankenstein fashion to bodies produced by other manufacturers.
Although very popular, both then and still being sought after by modern collectors, dolls of the Victorian/Edwardian era have developed a reputation for being a bit... well... creepy. We are unsure how this particular doll entered the collection, though it has been speculated that she manifested as the result of an ill-advised curatorial incantation on a dark and stormy night. All we know is that she will be going on display in 2025 and in the meantime we are reluctant to turn our backs on her.
By adopting our Armand Marseilles doll you will be helping to ensure she will be preserved for future generations and make darn sure that her display case is kept well and truly secured.
