Story
Our Glasgow Resilience Hub is currently delivering vital hygiene packs to people across the central belt of Scotland. The central message in the fight is hygiene and "wash your hands". It's so important to break the chain and stop the spread. Soap is the very best thing to use.
We are working with 150 organisations, growing daily, to distribute as many soap packs as possible, as quickly as possible. In 10 days we have delivered over 85,000 packs and will look to continue to deliver this support in the coming weeks into the peak of this crisis and have access to 1M soap packs.
We're getting it out there with a large number of other partners who are doing fantastic work with food and other essentials to their local communities, we're adding the soap packs to their bundles.
We can become the West of Scotland Hub for this coordinated work in the coming weeks and our experience in crisis management and engagement will be vital in supporting the efforts of both Scottish Government and NHS Scotland.
We need some help. Our Charity, Glasgow the Caring City, derives its income from events, recycling and shared usage of our Hub at Govan with other non profits and community groups and artists. All of that has stopped so we have no way of funding our logistical efforts and charity costs other than with the assistance of you and other donations. We don't want to stop but we need to keep the charity going.
We have our own soap product and supply chain and there is absolutely no charge to the recipients.
