Story
Dear Agape Ranch Friends,
On May 5, 2020, #GivingTuesdayNow will take place as an emergency response to the unprecedented need caused by COVID-19. The day is designed to drive an abundance of generosity, citizen engagement, business and philanthropy activation, and support for communities and nonprofits around the world.
Regretfully, child abuse and neglect continue to rise and the work of Agape Ranch is needed now more than ever. However, understandably, our general giving has decreased by 40%. Agape Ranch continues to be a part of the solution by supporting vulnerable children in our community.
The deep uncertainty of the past and weeks to come due to COVID-19 mobilized a response from Agape Ranch to meet the needs of the most vulnerable populations in the Coastal Bend.
We remain sensitive to the mental health needs and provided a webinar, panel discussions, and resources at www.agaperanch.org/resources.
-As an implementing partner, we launched the Disaster Relief feature through the CarePortal platform for churches within the network to see and meet the needs of both at-risk children, adults and emergency workers who need our support.
- Meeting the needs of foster parents who have become food, housing, and childcare insecure in order to prevent the disruption the placement for the foster children in their home.
-Supplying masks for foster children to be worn during their weekly visits with their biological families. Masks have also been made available to biological families and case workers.
In order for our work to continue and bring hope in the areas prevention, kinship care, permanency, and foster care, we invite you to be a part of leaving a better legacy through your #GivingTuesdayNow participation. I would like to thank you in advance for your generosity. Please do not hesitate to contact me at susan@agaperanch.org if you have any questions.
Kind regards,
Susan Klaus
