Story
For nearly two years, Public Counsel has been on the frontlines helping to mitigate the harm of the COVID-19 pandemic and its economic impact. Our clients--facing devastating job loss, mounting rent debts, grief, and terrible uncertainty--have borne the brunt of this unprecedented crisis.
We've supported children who have tragically lost parents due to COVID, helped dozens of women workers access emergency health and unemployment benefits, provided life-saving eviction defense, and advocated alongside community partners for vital policies to protect worker and tenant rights, all while continuing our ongoing work of advancing justice for all.
As we approach our third year living with the realities of COVID-19, our work remains critical. This Giving Tuesday, please give the gift of justice and fund critical legal services and advocacy efforts to support those most harmed by the pandemic, and ensure a just and equitable recovery for all of us.
For a limited time, you can amplify the impact of your donation! In honor of Giving Tuesday, members of Public Counsel's Board of Directors have donated a matching gift of $50,000. This means that every dollar you give will be doubled up to that amount.
Check out this video highlighting some of the ways our staff have been on the front lines alongside tenants fighting for their right to stay housed during this challenging time, in which losing ones home can look like a death sentence. In addition to eviction defense, Public Counsel has fought alongside allies and advocates, both locally in the City and County of L.A. and across California, to secure vital tenant protections that keep people housed.
Already donated? Thank you! Make your contribution go even further by helping us spread the word. Check out the social media toolkit we made for you here .
