Story
Every year, lots of amazing people organise fundraising events to celebrate the festive season in support of SpecialEffect. Whether it's a Christmas jumper day, a bake sale, a donation in lieu of Christmas Cards or a charity livestream, we're incredibly grateful for your generosity at this particularly busy time of year for the charity as we try to visit as many people as possible before the Big Day! A HUGE thank you from all of us at SpecialEffect as we work to bring the gift of gaming to even more people this Winter!
Christmas was made extra special last year for Finlay. His mum, Gail explained that Finlay has a severe form of cerebral palsy which sees him relying on adult support for everyday tasks, but despite his difficulties, he has an amazing can-do attitude to life and his resilience shines through. Finlay had, for the last two years, dreamt of being able to play football games on Xbox with his friends and family but hadn't been able to as he has very little hand control and cant use the standard controllers. The family visited SpecialEffect, thanks to British Airways, and we assessed Finlay to work out his exact requirements to enable him to finally enjoy the magic of gaming.
