School Construction/Renovation in Uganda

Muslims in Rail has kindly agreed to partner with Muslim Charity to raise awareness and funds for these forgotten children.

Education is fundamental right children deserve, yet at least 263 million children are not in any education. That is roughly 61 million primary school children, 60 million lower secondary school children and 142 million upper secondary school children missing out on an education.

A lack of education significantly reduces each child's prospect as they do not have the qualification or Knowledge to better their position. However, they also miss out on creating lasting social connections and essential skills that we take for granted.

In Uganda, universal primary education in 1997 greatly improved access, but it did not improve quality. As the student population tripled between 1997 and 2014, more and more children started dropping out.

Children drop out or are absent from class for several reasons. Among low-income families, the cost of school uniforms, books, stationery, and saving funds becomes too much to bear, pushing children out of school or leading families into debt. Illness and domestic work keep many children from attending school regularly. Children with disabilities, orphans and other disadvantaged children are especially at risk of school exclusion.

With your help, we can help turn these poor students lives around and provide children with a safe, functional and welcoming school. Our Adopt A School project helps fill the gap by providing the missing facilities many schools need.

Since 2015, we have helped construct 49 government primary schools across Pakistan, Bangladesh, Kenya, and Nepal, enabling almost 12,250 children to enjoy the gift of education every day. Every donation you make, no matter how big or small, will ensure each school has proper walls and classrooms and safe drinking water, washrooms and desks.

It is not cheap to renovate existing buildings or, in many cases, ultimately construct a school. On average, it costs around £10,000 to build and complete the facility fully, so every penny you can spare will help hundreds of children receive the education they deserve.
