We are asking you to Get Active for WAGS this Winter! Staying active in the winter can be difficult, but it is so important; why not use this as an incentive to stay moving and healthy!
Story
WAGS Retired Police Dogs helps the retired Police Dogs from Wiltshire, Avon, Gloucestershire and Somerset. Police Dogs spend their working lives detecting crimes and helping locate the most vulnerable people in our society. The dogs can be involved in dangerous situations and may be injured whilst protecting the Public, Police Officers and detaining offenders. WAGS provides financial assistance with the dogs veterinary fees to keep them healthy and happy during their well-earned retirement.
We are asking you to Get Active for WAGS this Winter! Staying active in the winter can be difficult, but it is so important; why not use this as an incentive to stay moving and healthy!
Enter our movement initiative for only £15; the first 100 people to sign up can choose to receive a bobble hat or dog bandana!
Our aim is to collaboratively reach 999km between 01/12/2024 and 31/01/2025! This can be by walking, dog walking, running, cycling or swimming, either indoor or outdoor!
We ask each person to receive sponsorship for their active efforts; sponsorship and donations can be given via this page. NOTE – when sponsoring a specific person, please put their name in the donation comments.
Each person who reaches 100km or £150 sponsorship will receive an exclusive medal at the end of the initiative.
Movement will be recorded using the Strava App, downloadable on all smart phones for free! This links up to this fundraising page and efforts can be seen!
How to enter:
- Donate £15 to this page.
If you are one of the first 100 people to sign up, email a proof of donation to emma.young@wagsretiredpolicedogs.co.uk along with your name, phone number and home address.
- Download STRAVA on your smartphone and create an account.
- Join the Get Active for WAGS this Winter group on STRAVA.
- Get moving and record your activities on STRAVA.
- Raise sponsorship!!! Money can be donated using this fundraising page; PLEASE NOTE – ask your donors/sponsors to put your name in the donation comments to be in with the chance to receive a medal for raising over £150!
