Each condition can differ greatly but each persons right for reliable information and support bonds our vast community. Gene People answer the calls of those diagnosed or going through diagnosis first hand. We're also here for the parents of children affected by a genetic condition who are fighting for information and services, the couples who are longing for a family but want to understand the health complications of a possible genetic condition and the caregivers who are trying their best to negotiate stretched services.
Gene People offer the only free Genetic Counsellor-Led helpline in the UK. Our unique service offers callers clarity on a diagnosis and what this could mean for them and their family or care network. Our service is free for everyone in the UK and available in over 200 languages, reaffirming that we are here for everyone who needs us.
Can you imagine walking through a dark tunnel... and then you suddenly talk to someone on the end of the phone and you can actually see a light there.
Support for Gene People creates a ripple throughout our community. Not only will you supporting those who access our helpline you will be supporting the hundreds of amazing groups and organisations who work with Gene People, some of which are volunteer-led by the parents and families of those affected.
Working with Gene People is an invaluable resource for a small organisation like ours. Having the support behind us like the network meetings which brings so many organisations like ours together and the one to one support from the Gene People team helps us to achieve our mission and vision to support people affected by NCBRS.
