Gateway Womens Centre Building Appeal

The building occupied by Gateway in Station Road, Portslade, has been put up for sale by its owners which will influence our ability to provide the core services that we provide currently to more than 100 women. As a consequence, we have launched a capital appeal to enable us to secure the Gateway Project for the future. Gateway Womens Centre has been in its present home since 1998.

Why it is needed more than ever..

The Gateway Women's Centre is the busiest it has ever been. We are supporting women who value our service highly. Since March 2020 even though direct physical contact was curtailed, we moved to one-to-one interactions via doorstep visits, phone and video links. The owners are willing to sell a substantial part of the building for £265,000 and this and the renovations (£83k) to the existing space which is what this funding is for.

It will have an immediate impact on our resources and capacity to help our clients - boosting our ability to make a difference to these women's lives. It will also enable us to increase our facilities and potential to support, counsel and train.

We are sure you appreciate the critical importance of securing this building for the future not only of this project but for the array of services available for women in crisis or difficulty across our city.

This Appeal is being run in addition to our day to day operations and funding - so your assistance will be critically important.

Please make our project your project..
