Story
Whether you stream on Twitch, YouTube or Facebook join us and convert your gaming community's passion into fundraising for RNIB.
How great would it be if your stream could actually help create a world without barriers for people with sight loss? Well, this May it actually can!
Gaming without barriers
Games rely largely on visuals, and it could be easy to forget that blind and partially sighted people are also active gamers, just with the help of accessibility features.
Gaming has become more inclusive but there's lots more that needs to be done to improve the accessibility of games, particularly actual game design. The majority of games in the top 100 list are largely inaccessible for people sight loss who of course want to be in control and play without the support of sighted peers.
Games can be made fully accessible (just think of The Last of Us Part II in 2020), there just needs to be a proper understanding of user needs and a willingness to change! Help RNIB make that change happen and sign up today [link to register form] to begin Gaming for RNIB.
Global Accessibility Awareness Day
To highlight Global Accessibility Awareness Day (GAAD) on the 20 May we are asking streamers to turn their stream into a fundraiser for RNIB between Thursday 20 May and Sunday 23 May 2021.
GAAD aims to get everyone talking, thinking and learning about digital access and inclusion, and wed love you to use your stream to get your community thinking about the 2.5 million people living with sight loss in the UK and the barriers they might face in day to day life.
Fundraising materials
We'll provide you with inspiring ideas to help with fundraising for your stream, along with all the materials you'll need to make it a great success including overlays and films.
If you are a gamer but new to streaming then do not panic, we also have clear instructions to help you set one up.
Join us today and start Gaming for RNIB.
