Story
Everyone Can are a charity that through the power of technology help disabled people speak, gain independence, control their environment and have fun! They carry out 1-1 assessments to find out how a persons disability is holding them back from what they want to achieve and then match technology to their needs, for example a communication aid if they're unable to speak.
They also have a state of the art gaming suite where they hold accessible gaming sessions for disabled children and adults. With huge custom built screens for multiplayer games, virtual reality stations, a driving wheel and an old school arcade machine there really is something for everyone! For gamers with neurodiverse disabilities such as autism it is about getting them gaming together, gaining confidence and making friends! Then for gamers with physical disabilities who struggle to use a regular gaming controller they have assistive gaming stations where by using assistive technology they can get them gaming the easiest way for them, whether it be with head movements, their elbows or even eye movements! Its all about ensuring everyone can game!
COVID-19 had a huge impact financially on Everyone Can, with multiple fundraisers being cancelled and corporate support coming to a halt they lost a lot of income. To ensure the charity can get through this tough time they need to make Game Together a huge success! Due to social distancing still in place they're unable to have as many people at the centre that's why they need streamers and gamers to come together and help them fundraise over the weekend of Game Together!
So if you love gaming and want to help disabled people game together then get involved and make a difference!
