Gaming wishes change lives
For many of our wish children, playing computer games isn't just a hobby it's a way of escaping their illness. Young people turn to us for a whole range of gaming wishes, from owning games equipment or meeting their favourite streamer to developing their own computer game. Gaming takes them away from the reality of daily life with a serious illness. For some it may be their only respite. It allows them to be themselves and stay connected with friends and family without the confines of illness, hospital and treatment.
When I was at my worst on treatment it gave me a way of talking and laughing with my friends even when I was in hospital
