Story
HBCF is a completely independent, not-for-profit charity that raises funds to provide practical support services to local families as they navigate breast cancer. These services include everything from a wig library, private transport, cleaning and lawn maintenance, comfort cushions post surgery, prosthesis funding, exercise & wellness programs, a childrens cancer book library, support groups and much more. This is a completely independent local charity funded entirely by the support of the Hunter, Newcastle & Lake Macquarie community.
We need your help. With the diagnosis rates in Newcastle increasing, we are predicting that the need for supportive care services is going to rise even further in 2022 with estimated service costs of over $400,000 yearly. HBCF is a small, local, grass roots charity. We run on fumes and elbow grease to ensure we are focusing the funds on service provision. We have no government funding or large national parent charity to help us. These services are funded entirely by the generosity of the Hunter community.
