Visit the charity's profileThe world has changed for young people.
The Good Childhood Report 2021 states that modern life continues to erode the happiness of young people. Mental health disorders among 11-15's are growing and the average levels of psychological distress is increasing. Lockdown has deprived young people of vital friendship-making experiences. For many, it has left them lonely and isolated, with a lack of social skills. While social media helps them feel close to others they also report an increase in negative experiences online. Young people report higher levels of pressure regarding their appearance, feeling judgement from others and a desire to look a certain way. The pressure of school continues to dominate.
We offer something different.
Something that allows young people to meet, relax and socialise together. Clubs and groups that enable positive experiences and values them as whole people. Something that isnt based on achievement but shows that God loves them and cherishes them.
We work online, in schools and with churches in Norwich and we need funds to continue to do our work. So for 24 hours straight, young people from our projects will be playing games and livestreaming. Thats right, no sleep for the whole thing.
For every donation that comes in, we will spin the spinner and complete a random challenge like eating a chilli, deliberately losing at the game or doing some star jumps. And for every £1000 we reach, Nick and others will be doing a Joe Wicks workout!
The whole thing will be livestreamed across Facebook, YouTube and Twitch. This means you can watch at any time between 7pm on the 29th April and 7pm on the 30th April. I suspect, it may be entertaining to watch some of the last hour, when everyone will be tired and very wired!
We would be honoured if you were able to support us in our work
