Story
Why not fundraise for your local mental health charity, Buckinghamshire Mind, while enjoying your hobby and relaxation time?
Gaming can be done solo, in teams or groups and even some game as a part of a tournament.
We have had some incredible fundraising efforts whereby individuals or teams of gamers set up a JustGiving fundraising page and livestream or simply promote their fundraising gaming aims through social media, email and word of mouth.
Some have created a game marathon, set up over a period of time. Others have created a tournament and some have simply asked for sponsorship while they game away in their downtime.
If you would like to have a gaming tournament or play as a group, then you can set-up a Team Fundraising Page on JustGiving that brings together all your individual fundraising. You can even nominate a team captain!
You can also livestream video content on your JustGiving fundraising pages. You can connect to well-known streaming platforms, such as Twitch, and any activity is broadcast directly onto the JustGiving page. This makes it even easier to encourage friends and family to donate whilst watching.
Next steps:
1. Set up a JustGiving page, explaining your gaming method and game of choice.
2. Share your JustGiving link far and wide.
3. Maybe offer a livestream of the gaming event? (Twitch, YouTube, snapchat, Instagram, Facebook)
Bucks Mind will happily supply you with some statistics and/or mental health topics and tips to share while you are gaming or livestreaming. Please contact us at fundraising@bucksmind.org.uk
