Story

TeamGAIN, helping to make history!

The 2021 Virgin Money London Marathon is taking place on Sunday 3 October, with a record 50,000 participants running on the streets of the capital. On the same day, an additional 50,000 people will run the 26.2 miles on a course of their choice, between 00:00:00 to 23:59:59 BST, wherever they are on the planet. Together, these participants will make history by creating the worlds first ever 100,000-person marathon.

Many of the big, well-known charities have 100s of places in the London Marathon each year, but as a small charity, GAIN only has one guaranteed place every 5 years. The virtual event has facilitated our biggest ever entry in the London Marathon, and we are delighted that amongst the 100,000, at least 25 runners will be helping raise money and awareness for people affected by GBS, CIDP and the Associated Inflammatory Neuropathies.
