Our football community is walking between 5 football clubs across Birmingham & the Black Country to raise funds for Team Margot Foundation (registered charity no. 1160236).
An important part of Team Margots mission is to provide a range of support to families caring for child cancer patients, including grants of £1,000 per family. Whilst living in hospital with Margot, Yaser & his wife Vicki saw many families struggling to make ends meet, often for some of the most basic needs, all the while caring for children with cancer.
There are around 3,755 children & young people diagnosed with cancer in the UK each year. Cancer treatment, inability to work and other factors leave a third of cancer survivors in debt, whilst 3% are bankrupted by the illness.
Team Margot provides grants to patient families for whatever they need - no questions asked! To date the charity has made over 250 of these grants which have become known as 'emergency grants', given the ease of application and the fact that the funds usually arrive within 24 hours following receipt of bank details.

I have just had a call from Patience, crying happy tears! She has received your grant this morning and is so grateful. The money will enable her to make her garden useable which will benefit the whole family (the family moved into the property 6 months ago and the garden was completely overgrown and with 3 young children, one on treatment, it was something the Patience did not have the time to rectify).
Family is extremely grateful. Mum is in hospital with Armaan. Dad looks after siblings at home. His furlough payments have stopped recently and so this grant has helped the family greatly.
I have no words, I am crying, your support has meant so much to us, I cant thank you enough.
