Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Nini is 4 years old. She was born not breathing and not crying, due to a lack of oxygen to her brain. She was immediately placed on life support and fought for her life for 3 weeks in the intensive care unit for babies, where she suffered seizures at various times, was fed through a tube, and urinated through tubes. She was eventually diagnosed at 7 months old with cerebral palsy (spastic quadriplegic), which means all four of her limbs are affected.

Our little angel is a beautiful soul, intelligent and super smart, but unable to stand without support, talk, or walk, as she is totally dependent on her parents for her everyday needs. Nini enjoys playing in the water, just as much as she loves watching football (the joy on her face knows no bounds whenever she attempts to kick one). On occasions when she goes out in her specialized buggy, she is always eager to come down and run with other kids.

With your financial donations, she would undergo an SDR (Selective Dorsal Rhizotomy) surgery, a procedure that has proven to be effective time and again for children with similar conditions. It would help reduce spasticity, improve her walking patterns, and enhance her range of motion and functional mobility. Most importantly, it would assist her with self-care activities such as feeding herself, getting dressed, grooming, and being independent, among others.

A total of £80,000 would not only help her undergo this surgery successfully, but would also cover her pre- and post-surgery (intensive) physiotherapy sessions, which she would need consistently for at least 18 months to help her recover and give her the best chance of walking and being comfortable on her feet. It would also pay for her post-surgery equipment.

We are seeking your financial support to make this dream a reality for Nini.

We would like to say a very big thank you from the bottom of our hearts as you donate towards this cause.
