Story
Three months into 2020 and we've seen the world change in ways no one could have dreamt, the impact COVID-19 has had on everyone is immeasurable and has left many feeling vulnerable, uncertain and, to be frank, a little scared.
Now imagine feeling all of those things and then living with a chronic health condition, a health condition that not only weakens your immune system it also compromises it due to the medications you take to just 'manage'. Now imagine there was somewhere that helped to alleviate that worry, that gave you support and access to therapies, where you met friends and made new ones. Where you felt safe. Now imagine that Centre having to close.
At the end of March, following the social distancing strategy set out by the UK government, we did the unthinkable and closed the doors of the Centre. Over the past 35 years we have never abandoned our members and we certainly have no intention of doing so now; we just have to get a little more creative.
Unfortunately, creativity costs money and we are unable to carry out our normal fundraising activities, in fact, we are facing a severe shortfall. Many of our large events were planned for the warmer weather and those events are now indefinitely postponed, potentially for at least another year.
By donating today you will be helping us to provide the support, help and companinship our most vulnerable members need.
With your support we aim to help our members with prescriptions, shopping and advice on how to claim any financial aid they are entitled to.
Your gift will ensure we are here in the future to continue supporting our members and their families.
Thank you, your generosity and kindness makes it all just a little less scary.
